Great Machine, much better than PowerPro Sep 09 '03 Author's Product Rating Pros Convenient, great full body exercise machine. Cons Expensive (but worth it). Takes more space than you'd expect, especially with leg attachment on. The Bottom Line The Ultimate is worth the extra money over the PowerPro. It provides a better full-body workout. Check ebay! You'll save money and get your Bowflex in about a week. |

had a Bowflex PowerPro for about 1 year. I liked the machine for upper-body workouts but
thought it was very weak for lower body. The leg attachment is fine for toning, but to
truly get a lower body workout, you've got to push some serious weight. I finally broke down and bought a Bowflex Ultimate and love it. The squat attachment is works great, and the extra hundred pounds of resistance that comes with the Ultimate makes leg presses worthwhile (210 Lbs. on the PowerPro was a joke). The seat glides much more smoothly than the one on the PowerPro, which is nice for rowing and leg presses. The lat tower is much more sturdy than the one on the PowerPro, which seems like it was an afterthought. The one on the Ultimate is integrated into the design of the machine. If you're new to Bowflex, the feel of the power rods takes some getting used to. It's much different that free weight, but it works! I lowered my body fat from 21% to 10% in about six months on my old PowerPro. Some people complain about the time it takes to switch between exercises. I can switch to any exercise in less than a minute. You should rest at least that long between different body parts anyway. Assembly took about 2-1/2 hours. It's a bit complicated, but take your time and follow the directions carefully. Recommended Yes Amount Paid (US$): 1650.00 |
