order for the body to work, it needs energy. This energy comes from the carbohydrates,
fats, and proteins found in foods. The nutrients in these foods must go through a series
of chemical changes before the energy can be released into the body. Most of the B-complex
vitamins will play an important role in these many changes. Thiamine (Vitamin B1): Beriberi, which is a disease, is often times found in countries where polished rice is an important part of the populations diet. The coating that is removed from that rice contains thiamine which is one of the vitamins in the B-Complex. This polished rice doe not cause the beriberi, but in countries where people eat a lot of rice, other foods that could help to make up for the lack of thiamine are many times not eaten. A continued lack of thiamine may help to contribute to beriberi. This is a serious nervous and muscular disorder which will lead to death. The good news is that the thiamine deficiency can be quickly over turned by eating foods which are rich in thiamine. Some of these foods are: whole grain cereals meat milk eggs Riboflavin (Vitamin B2): A deficiency in this vitamin may occur when a large amount of unfortified cereals make up the diet and there is little or no milk and meat. This deficiency will cause scaly skin and cracking at the corners of the mouth. A deficiency may also interfere with the work of many of the body's enzymes. Some of the foods that are rich in riboflavin are: whole milk fortified cereals poultry meat fish Niacin: This vitamin helps to prevent a very serious disease called pellagra. This disease was prevalent at a time when many people in America and around the world were very poor and corn was a big part of their diet. Corn has very little niacin in it, and most of the people were too poor to be able to get milk or meat. A pellagra victim will have dry skin. The persons nervous system will also be affected. This will result in jerking movements and even paralysis. Death may follow if the deficiency is not made up. Foods that you would want to eat if you were suffering from a niacin deficiency would be: whole grain and fortified cereals meat Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6): This is one of the most rare deficiencies that you will find because vitamin B6 is found in such a wide variety of foods. Pyridoxine is needed for antibodies that help you to fight off germs. A deficiency in this vitamin can lead to convulsions. Some foods that you would eat to avoid a deficiency in this vitamin would be: Potatoes cabbage meat bananas lima beans Biotin Biotin is important as an enzyme in reaction of fats and certain proteins. A natural deficiency of biotin is very very rare. This vitamin is very plentiful in both liver and eggs. Pantothenic Acid: I know very little about this vitamin other than that a deficiency is very rare and it is found in nearly all foods. Folic Acid: Folic comes from the Latin word leaf. Therefore, the obvious is true. Leafy green vegetables are rich in this vitamin. Folic acid work as an enzyme in the making of hemoglobin. It is also important in the development of red blood cells. Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12) There are a few people who are unable to absorb this vitamin from the digestive system to the blood stream. The result is pernicious anemia. This is when the blood cells develop abnormally and the nervous system is thus affected. The treatment for this would be injections of vitamin B12. Some of the foods that you would find this vitamin in are: eggs cheese milk meat I hope this article has made you familiar with the Vitamin B-Complex, the many foods that it can be found in, and its importance to your health. | Ladies,
tired of feeling hopeless every single month. I have recently discovered the natural way
to help ease women through the almost unmanageable monthly cycle. After stumbling on this,
what I call "miracle vitamin B" I learned that the incredible outcome for taking
this vitamin is beneficial in more ways then one. I recommend taking Vitamin B everyday,
but not exceeding the maximum daily allowance of 200mg for women. Vitamin B can help
reduce several menstrual symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, poor mental performance,
withdraw from social activities or depression. Now honestly, it does take a week or two to
notice the difference, but considering the option my choice is obviously taking the
vitamin. After years of suffering from PMS and apologizing every month for my moods
swings, my lack of concentration, and my ability to cry every time someone looked at me
wrong I decided to put it to a end, and so can you! To those that are at risk for Coronary
Heart disease, there are recent studies being preformed to prove that taking Vitamin B
reduces the risk for CHD. These nutrients can prevent an excess buildup of homocysteine,
high levels of which can lead to atherosclerosis and eventually to cardiac arrest. A
Vitamin that can save your life and help you live happy while you are alive, is worth
trying. Hope it brings you as much happiness as it did for me. Recommended Yes |

SUFFER FROM YEAST INFECTIONS? Oct 26 '00 Author's Product Rating Pros Systems In My Family Do Not Assimilate Vitamin B Complex Cons In Our Family, This Complex Causes Infection |

B complex, is touted by most all doctors as a wonderful way to keep stress level down,
skin texture in excellent condition, to help in avoiding many birth defects; and is
considered to be an all around excellent vitamin to put into your system. In my family, it
does NOT do the good stuff, but, it, certainly has some bad effects. I thought my family members must really be unusual. My sisters and I cannot take any combination of vitamins that include vitamin B, nor are we able to take vitamin B, alone. I kept attempting to take it, as my doctors kept insisting it would be so helpful in handling stress. My sisters did the same thing. Our stress levels were NOT curbed in any way, but, we DID all continue to develop yeast infections, everytime we tried to take vitamin B. Later, I learned that after 5 years of being tested, one of my brothers had been diagnosed as having a system that would not assimilate vitamin B. I spoke to my doctor about this, and he, immediately, advised me NEVER to take this vitamin in any pill or capsule form, again! My sisters followed my doctor's advice, as well. Since we quit trying to take the ever popular vitamin B, we have ceased to have any yeast infections, whatsoever! I know that my family is not alone in this odd sounding dilema. I have spoken to other women who have had the symptoms that I developed each time I attempted to take the vitamin B complex, and found that, they, like myself, were taking vitamin B when their symptoms set in. Do you or other family members suffer from these infections, while taking this complex? Without going through a myriad of tests, as my family did, it might be appropriate for you or your family member to simply NOT take vitamin B complex for a few months, just to see if your condition(s) improve, greatly. I don't want everyone to stop taking their vitamin B complex! This is only written for those people who are wondering why they may be continuing to have infections that seem to have no other cause. Simply ceasing to take the vitamin for a while is a great deal easier to do, to check out this condition, than to continue to take medications for infections that may be due entirely to the vitamin B complex.
